Cooperative associations

At Mid Sweden University, many of our students and members have organised themselves into what we call either line associations or cultural associations. The latter are more comprehensive and involve students in different programmes and subjects. Of course, you don't have to become a member of either of these, but you can just as easily get involved directly under the Student Union and come up with ideas for new projects. It is your involvement that matters most.

All line and cultural associations are legal entities and thus independent from the Student Union in Sundsvall. We therefore do not take responsibility for the activities of the respective associations unless they have been approved in advance by the Student Union Board.

Student Union in Östersund

Mid Sweden University has two campuses, Sundsvall and Östersund, and thus two faculties. Ours and then the Student Union in Östersund ! We work together on university-wide issues in the cooperation body Mittuniversitetets Förenade Studentkårer (MFS), for example the appointment of general posts and the Pedagogical Prize.

Student Choir Gungner

A mixed choir at Mid Sweden University in Sundsvall. The choir was founded in 1995 by David Bodin. Over the years, the choir has been an important part of Sundsvall's student life and has also attracted attention within Sundsvall's other cultural life.

Student Radio The Radio Wave

At the beginning of 2020, a radio channel was launched at Mid Sweden University with the help of the Student Union. Under the name Radiosvallet, students broadcast radio every Saturday. Radiosvallet was started to give students an opportunity to learn even more about radio and how broadcasting works. On the one hand, students are better prepared when they enter the job market, but they also get a chance to create something of their own and have fun. Every week, our editorial team comes up with new topics to talk about, both high and low. We're the place to go for info on the city's entertainment scene, what's happening at school, helpful tips on student life, etc.
