The fire brigade will open soon!
After a number of years without our own union hall, we can now happily announce that a new one is underway! We are now in full swing with decorating and setting the right atmosphere for "Brandkåren". What is the idea with the union hall? The idea is for us students to have a space where we can generally hang out and organize events on our own terms. The activities of the union house include the opportunity to study, eat lunch, play board games, have board meetings and organize events. Pub activities will also be run, cool huh? During the days Wednesday and Friday it takes place. Organized events take place on Saturdays while the plug area is kept open Monday-Sunday.

Yay, a student union hall! I want to get involved too, how do I go about it?
To take part in brandkåren's activities, there is the opportunity for SKS members to join the bar team. In the bar team, you get the opportunity to gain experience to put on your CV, but of course there are also benefits for your commitment! Such as nice badges to adorn your resume with, queue access and food coupons. The tasks include standing at the bar but also serving various simple dishes.
But I have no experience of bartending, so what do I do? We'll fix that! As part of the bar team, we will provide you with in-house training to help you understand your responsibilities. The training will also prepare you on how to handle various situations in the best way.

The Student Union in Sundsvall [finally] opens a union hall!
After a number of years without a union hall, we can now happily announce that a new one is underway! During the last six months, the union board together with the union house group have worked diligently to start a new union house, and on the fifth anniversary of the bankruptcy of the previous union house, a new renovation and rental agreement was signed.
What is the idea of the Student Union Hall?
A student union hall is a place owned and run by a student union. In our case, the idea is to have a space where we students in general can hang out and where we can organize events on our own terms. The Union Hall doors will be open if you want somewhere to study, grab a bite to eat, play board games, have a board meeting or organize an event - of course, there will also be pub activities in the evenings! The pub activities will be run on a voluntary basis and will be open to SKS members.
Where will the union hall be, what will it look like, and when will it open?
The union house is located in Grönborg, with its own entrance from Sidsjövägen. The premises are oblong and about 190 square meters in size, where about 2⁄3 of the area will be social spaces, while the remaining third will be taken up by the kitchen, bar and toilets. The renovation is in full swing, and unfortunately we don't know any details at the moment about when it will open.
